Not so Fresh & Easy

Yesterday’s Business Journal outlines plans for Fresh & Easy’s continued expansion. According to the article, it seems Tesco PLC (the parent company) is growing wary of the potential in northern California after the widespread economic collapse we’ve see over the last year (no surprise there, I suppose). Still, there are additions to the store’s local plans:

  • Ashlan & Cornelia
  • Herndon & Milburn
  • Herndon & Fowler
  • Shaw & Fowler

Several locations are already in development:

  • Downtown Fresno at Tulare & R
  • Cedar & Nees
  • Shaw & Willow (construction was recently completed)

I’m a bit confused by the mixed signals in the article, but I also don’t see any mention of plans for a store at Clovis & California, which I’ve seen elevation plans for. What’s the deal?

Our Fresh & Easy construction project here in Reedley is moving ahead slowly, but surely. I am really hoping it gives us a viable option of reasonable quality product. We and many of our friends are SO tired of driving to Trader Joe’s.

The initial opening date was given as March of ‘09. I can’t really tell for sure but they seem to be behind on that date. I am expecting mid-April.

There was one supposed to go in at Shaw and West as well (replacing the Rite Aid that’s moving to the corner). I wonder what happen to that?

@Mimizhusband I’d love to have a Trader Joe’s in short driving range…but I’ll take anything at this point. I wonder if any of Fresh & Easy’s valley projects have been completed?

@The Fresnan Sounds like they’ve put another plan on hold? Maybe The Business Journal just didn’t list all the location. Yeah, let’s go with that…
