The coolest guy on the block

It’s official. I’m the coolest guy on the block.

In my recent attempts to balance the family budget, I’ve dusted off the bike I bought a couple of years back. Not only can I use it for exercise, saving gas by limiting trips to Bally’s (since the closest one is on Shaw), but I can use it as my mode of transport to and from Starbucks-yes, I realize the ironies.

The bike is nothing fancy; just a Wal-Mart special, Schwinn Sidewinder. It’s got a fancy front shock that makes it hard to do all the tricks (like bunny hops) that I remember from childhood, though I couldn’t really do them then (I was a bit awkward, but that’s for a different post). And with the bitchin’ rack I just put on the back, the bike is not only useful, it’s stylish; Kim argues that this is debatable.

Now I’m not talking about a basket that sits above the back tire-that’s so 1950ish (?). I’m talking about wire saddle bags; one basket on each side of tire, each large enough to hold my computer bag, or groceries, or just the musings of my imagination.

But don’t take my word for it—judge for yourself…
